Question : After iOS 6 upgrade iPhone randomly vibrates iPhone 4S

I had a similar experience. It was driving me bananas to get a vibration with no idea what it was trying to indicate.

Turns out there's a default vibration for new emails. I turned that off and my iPhone's been quiet ever since.

You manage vibrations under Sounds in the Settings panel.

Yup, just found that out while going through all of my 'Notifications' preferences. I'm not sure that iOS 5 had the same setting for new emails. Anyway, it seems that iOS 6 has it set by default. It's interesting that Apple would set that as default--given the volume of emails we all get in this day and age, I would think the better defult would be to leave it off.

Thanks getsender for confirming it was the same thing for you.

Hmmm... I just upgraded my 4S to iOS6, and my New Mail notification sound still says "None." Despite this, the thing keeps vibrating and random intervals... :-

@Quixx23, have you tried a hard reset (hold on/off and centre key down at the same time till screen goes black and apple logo appears)? This often clears a lot of weird things with apple devices (and on the iphone it doesn't wipe any settings, which is a nice bonus).

@Mkenyon: I actually never had to get to the "hard reset" stage. For me, for some reason, it turned out that the upgrade caused my calendar notifications to get turned on. It seeemd random, but I eventually realized it was always buzzing when I was 15 minutes away from an appointment in my calendar (this is something it didn't do before the upgrade). Turning that off solved it!

I upgraded to iOS 6.0 on my iphone and now I can't receive or make calls at all. I called customers service and it helped me on trying to fix the problem but nothing worked for my phone. Now I have to go to the sprint store to see if they can help us. The lady from customer service said that maybe we had to purchase a new phone, I dont think it's fair because downloading the 6.0 is what caused the problem. Does anyone have any advice for me, I really dont want to go into a sprint store and wait 2 hrs to be helped.

Thanks
