My iPhone 4S does not play music from external speakers. When I try to play music it will play out of the actual phone, and even connects to external speakers, but when I hit play it plays out of the phone as if it was not plugged in at all. It still charges and will play through head phones and my external speakers work with other devices. I am thinking something with the charger port is broke and I need it replaced, but all ideas are welcome becuase I don't want to be over charged from some tiny part.
How do these "external speakers" connect the iPhone? Via the dock connector or an auxillary jack?
If via the dock connector, does the iPhone detect that it is even connected?
Through the dock. The auxiliary port works just fine.
Okay, so does the iPhone actualy detect that something is connected via the dock connector?
If it does, when connected, do you get the option to change the output when playing media to the dock connector or the iPhone speakers?
It plugs in and my speakers say an iPod is connected. But my iPhone says "can not read this device" even the it has worked fine for 7 months and just randomly happened. But my iPhone still charges and such. But it is read as detected.
